Day 1 Program

High-Speed Train Journey – İnce Minareli Madrasah – Karatay Madrasah – Alaaddin Hill – Butterfly Valley – Alaaddin Mosque – Whirling Dervishes Ceremony

In the early morning, we board the Istanbul-Konya high-speed train at designated stations with our IDs:

• 06:30 Söğütlüçeşme

• 07:53 İzmit
• 08:15 Sakarya Arifiye Station

After approximately five and a half hours, we arrive in Konya and meet our vehicle waiting at Konya Train Station to start our tour. Our first stop is Butterfly Valley, an impressive venue with a 3,500 m² sightseeing area and a total usage area of 7,600 m². Next, we head to a restaurant to taste local delicacies such as Bamya Soup and Etli Ekmek. After lunch, we explore Alaaddin Hill, Alaaddin Mosque, Karatay Madrasah, and İnce Minareli Madrasah, where we admire the stunning architecture of the Seljuk era and see remarkable artifacts. Afterwards, we check into our hotel and have some time to rest before dinner. In the evening, we head to Konya Cultural Center to attend the Whirling Dervishes Ceremony held as part of the 745th Vuslat Celebrations. This ceremony marks the gala program commemorating Mevlana’s union with God and is the final Sema program of the 749th Vuslat events.

After the ceremony, we return to our hotel.

Note: This evening’s Whirling Dervishes Ceremony is the final gala program of the Vuslat events, coinciding with the anniversary of Mevlana’s union with God.

• Lunch: Includes Bamya and/or Arap Aşı Soup, Etli Ekmek or Bıçak Arası, yogurt, salad, Sac Arası dessert, and water (extra).

Day 2 Program

Meram Ateşbaz-ı Veli Tomb – Mevlana Museum and Tomb – Şems-i Tebrizi Tomb – Free Time in Konya – Return to Istanbul by High-Speed Train

After breakfast, we visit the Ateşbaz-ı Veli Tomb in Meram, the resting place of one of the most important figures in Mevlevi tradition. Although primarily responsible for the kitchen, Ateşbaz-ı Veli also guided and trained new students entering the dervish lodge. Next, we head to the Mevlana Museum, where we explore areas such as the Üçler Tomb, 16-Segment Green Dome (Kubbe-i Hadra), Selimiye Mosque, Mevlana Tomb, Sultan-ül Ulema Bahaddin Veled’s Tomb, dervish clothing, musical instruments, dining arrangements, the Nisan Bowl, manuscripts, and cells for retreat.

We then enjoy lunch featuring Konya’s famous local dishes. Afterward, we visit the Şems-i Tebrizi Tomb, honoring the man who profoundly influenced Mevlana and inspired his transformation, described in Mevlana’s words, “I was raw, I was cooked, I was burned.” Following this, we provide some free time near Aziziye Mosque, where you can shop for souvenirs, visit traditional felt-makers, and explore Mevlevi-inspired jewelry.

At 6:30 PM, we head to Konya Train Station to board the high-speed train back to Istanbul. We are expected to arrive at Söğütlüçeşme Station around 11:30 PM.
